Sophie’s journey to Deputy Manager at React

Sophie’s journey to Deputy Manager at React

Before I started React I worked in Supported living Care this was care in the community with adults and children. I worked there for over a year and wanted to progress my training into mental health.

I started my role as a Support Worker in March 2020 this was Stage 1 in St Johns. I was provided with the relevant training such as Induction, PBM, First Aid and Medication training. I also had Online Training modules which was provided by React before I started. Whilst in Stage 1 I was given the opportunity to progress with the Manager and also the staff to then shift lead this also provided input in the day to day basics of regular checks covid compliance and working with health professionals. I then progressed to Senior Support Worker and moved over to Cadoc House in September 2021 and quickly progressed to Deputy Manager in with React in February 2022.

Throughout my time in React I have found all the team to be helpful. We hold reflective practice for the staff, which can help reflect on any certain incidents or in general, and also house meetings. I have also been studying my Level 2 Health and Social care with the progression of Level 3.
